Qualifications and Experience

Purpose of the role

To work with our overseas clients in putting together and booking bespoke holiday packages of Britain.

You’ll work closely with clients from North America and Australia communicating by telephone and email. You’ll look after your own clients from first enquiry through to after-care, understanding their travel needs, developing itineraries, closing sales, managing all reservations and related administration, handling customer service issues during travel and following up after their trip.

The ideal candidate

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic individual with a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn. They should be able to work independently, taking ownership of their workload and clients. They should have a drive to offer excellent customer service, an awareness of British history and culture and an interest in travel and tourism.

Full training is provided however we are looking for a candidate who fits the following:

Skills and experience:

  • Experience of conversational selling of bespoke, high-end and/or high-value products, preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of the main Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Key duties

The position offers a varied role for a primarily office-based job but some of the day-to-day duties are outlined below:

Key duties:

  • Building relationships with our clients by email and telephone to understand their travel needs and develop bespoke travel itineraries.
  • Using our internal systems to translate these itineraries into workable travel packages and price quotations.
  • Processing firm bookings by undertaking all related administration such as running payments, confirming all hotel, tour, sightseeing and car rental reservations.
  • Ongoing communication with confirmed customers to answer their questions, gather additional required information, process balance payments and dispatch bespoke travel packs.
  • Handling any on-the-ground customer service issues for your clients.

There will also be opportunities to undertake the following:

  • Assist in marketing activity such as engaging in social media or writing blog-posts.
  • Representing the company at travel trade events, meetings and conferences or directly with our clients in person.
  • Taking part in familiarisation trips to experience our touring and hotel products.
  • Contributing ideas and suggestions on ways to develop our internal processes.

Pay and Benefits

  • 37.5 hours per week (if full-time).
  • 20 days annual leave (not including public holidays).
  • Salary after completion of probationary period starting from £23,000 per annum.
