Tour Highlights
  1. Day 1 St Fagans, Roman Caerleon and the Brecon Beacons

Our tour of Wales begins in the nation’s beautiful capital city as we head out in search of the Wales of old. Our first stop is the National History Museum of Wales at St. Fagans, a unique living museum which offers an insight of Wales and Welsh heritage throughout the ages from its Celtic origins right through to the industrial revolution. Our next stop is at Caerleon, a small town which marks the site of one of only three permanent Roman Legionary Fortresses across Britain. Passing North we pass through the South Wales valleys on route to beautiful landscapes of the Brecon Beacons National Park and the quaint market town of Crickhowell, our base for the next two days.

We then follow the scenic Wye Valley to the hauntingly pretty ruins of Tintern Abbey, one of Britain’s most important monastic ruins and the site which inspired one of Wordsworth’s famous poems. After lunch we learn about the United Kingdom’s growing wine industry as we stop at an award-winning vineyard to sample some of the much-celebrated wines.
