  1. Day 1 Glasgow Arrival and Sightseeing

    Arrive in Scotland and make your way to your hotel close to the vibrant Scottish city of Glasgow (complimentary group transfers available from Glasgow Airport). Your tour begins at 2pm when you meet your tour guide at your hotel and embark on a panoramic tour of the city.You'll see Glasgow's highlights including the Cathedral and George Square and hear about its unique history at Provand's Lordship, the oldest house in the city. By evening, join your group for a welcome drink before dinner in your hotel.

  2. Day 2 Loch Lomond, Inveraray Castle and Oban

    Today we embark on our journey to Scotland's West Coast. Firstly we pass along the "Bonny Banks" of Loch Lomond and pause for a photo opportunity at ‘Rest and Be Thankful,’ a scenic old road with panoramic mountain views. Then we head for the turreted Inveraray Castle, home of the 12th Duke of Argyll - you may recognize the opulent interiors from the small-screen when it featured in an episode of Downton Abbey. After time for lunch in Inveraray itself, we continue to the harbour town of Oban Scotland's renowned gateway to the isles.

  3. Day 3 Jacobite Train Ride and the Isle of Benbecula

    Today our journey continues North along the scenic shores of Loch Linnhe to the Highland town of Fort William. Here we board the Jacobite Steam Train to one of Europe's most scenic railway journeys over the Glenfinnan viaduct to the fishing port of Mallaig. We'll then enjoy free-time for lunch before boarding the ferry for Lochboisdale and traveling onward to our hotel on the remote Isle of Benbecula. Enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant.

  4. Day 4 Isle of Barra Excursion

    Today we enjoy a day of island hopping - first we cross the scenic South Uist and board the ferry the Isle of Barra to admire the untouched white sandy beaches. We'll visit Castlebay, a traditional island town before hopping to the Isles of Vatersay and Eriskay. We'll pause for a drink at the Am Politician pub, named after the ship which sank off the island in 1941, losing its cargo of whisky and later inspired the film “Whisky Galore”. By evening we return to our hotel for dinner.

  5. Day 5 North Uist and the Hebridean Smokehouse

    More island hopping today as we explore the island of North Uist home to spectacular fresh and saltwater lochs. We'll then visit the Hebridean Smokehouse to learn about the traditional smoking of fish and sample this island delicacy ourselves. We'll pause at the museum and arts center at Taigh Chearsabhagh before continuing north to board the ferry for the Isle of Harris where we'll head for Stornoway, the largest town in the Outer Hebrides.

  6. Day 6 The Isle of Harris and Whisky Distillery

    Today we tour the majestic Isle of Harris and visit two of the islands renowned beaches - Horgabost and Luskentyre - which boast untouched white sands and icy blue waters. Later we visit the Isle of Harris Distillery to witness the whisky distilling process and enjoy a wee dram ourselves before returning to Stornoway for dinner at our hotel.

  7. Day 7 Isle of Lewis Excursion

    Today we explore the Isle of Lewis, home to dramatic landscapes and rugged coastlines. We'll discover the local history and heritage of the island with visits to a number of sites and points of interest including Gearrannan Blackhouse Village, the 2000-yr-old stone tower at Dun Carloway Broch, the enchanting prehistoric Callanish Standing Stones and Bosta Beach, a reconstructed iron-age dwelling. By evening we return to Stornoway for a free evening to dine independently.

  8. Day 8 Stornoway and Ferry to the mainland

    Today we enjoy a leisurely start to the day with a brief panoramic tour of Stornoway before free-time in the Highland port town. Perhaps visit the local arts center, the hill-top Lews Castle or the Lewis Loom Centre with demonstrations of spinning wheels and the hand loom. Byafternoon we board the ferry to Ullapool on the mainland and travel to Inverness for dinner and a stroll around this Highland town with a local guide.

  9. Day 9 Culloden Battlefield, Pitlochry and Scone Palace

    This morning we visit Culloden Battlefield and Visitor Centre to stroll the eerie site and learn about the infamous battle fort by Scottish hero Bonnie Prince Charlie and his army. After free time for lunch in the charming Highland town of Pitlochry we visit Scone Palace to see the collections of antiques and art of this stately home. Arriving in Edinburgh, tonight we enjoy a traditional Scottish evening of food and entertainment. July 31 to August 21 departures attend the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo on the Castle Esplanade instead of the group dinner.

  10. Day 10 Edinburgh sightseeing

    OUr final day is dedicated to exploring the bustling city of Edinburgh. We'll see the elegant avenues of the 200-year-old Georgian “New Town” and the cobbled lanes and stacked houses of the medieval old town. We'll travel up the Royal Mile to visit the majestic Edinburgh Castle perched high over the city. The rest of the day is free to explore, shop, and dine at your own leisure. (The Scottish evening with dinner and traditional song and dances will be held tonight for departures from July 31 – August 21.)

  11. Day 11 Tour Ends and Return Home

    Today our programme ends after breakfast at the hotel. You are then free to return to the airport for a return flight to your home nation (group transfers to Edinburgh Airport available at set times). Alternatively, continue to explore Edinburgh independently or embark on your onward travel within Scotland or England. Please let us know if you require onward rail travel to London.
