  1. Day 1 Manchester Arrival and Chester

    This morning, arrive in Britain and make your way to the charming English City of Chester close to the Wales border. Chester is approximately 30 miles from Manchester Airport and complimentary shared transfers can be arranged (scheduled at set times) from this location upon request. Your tour begins at 2pm when you meet your tour director for a walking tour of the medieval city of Chester, famed for its half-timbered houses and shops known as the “Rows”. With your guide, stroll along part of the city walls, view the Roman ruins and visit Chester Cathedral, which dates to 660 AD, before meeting for a welcome drink with your new group.

  2. Day 2 Rural North Wales and Historic Conwy

    Today cross into the ancient land of Wales and travel along the scenic Horseshoe Pass with spectacular views over the hills and mountains of Snowdonia. In rural North Wales, immerse yourself in traditional Welsh farm life as you watch trained dogs herding sheep. Moving further through Wales, we stop for photos at the small, 13 Century St Asaph’s Cathedral. Arriving into Conwy, a beautiful coastal town dominated by its spectacularly large castle and castle walls, walk through the narrow streets to view Britain’s smallest house. Finally, we drive to Caernarfon for some free time before meeting again for dinner.

  3. Day 3 Snowdonia and Mountain Steam Train Ride

    Today we begin by taking a ride on Britain's oldest tramway up the great Orme for stunning views over the coastal town of Llandudno and to the mountains of Snowdonia inland. We then continue to the nearby Bodnant Welsh Food Centre to sample the flavours of Wales and choose from seasonal handmade food and drink from local artisan producers. This afternoon we visit the National Slate Museum of Wales, which beautifully tells the story of the region’s industrial history, which rose to prominence in Victorian Wales.

  4. Day 4 Harlech Castle and Tenby

    Departing North Wales, we travel South along Wales spectacular Western coastline. Our first stop is the mighty Harlech Castle, perched high upon the rocks of Snowdonia. Harlech Castle is one of the “Iron Ring Castles” built along the Welsh coast by the English in the 13 Century and enjoys World Heritage status. Continuing South, we arrive in the picturesque seaside town of Tenby, complete with sweeping sandy bays, a natural harbour, castle ruins and defensive town walls. Shortly after dinner, we meet to join a local guide for a walk around the town, hearing tales and traditions commonly associated with Tenby and Pembrokeshire.

  5. Day 5 Lovespoon Workshop and Pembrokeshire Coast

    Driving around scenic Pembrokeshire, a region of Wales known for its rolling hills and picture-perfect coastline, we make a stop off at the family-run Lovespoon Workshop. Here, we are treated to a demonstration of the ancient Welsh tradition as these small spoons are carved from natural wood. Afterwards, we head to the imposing Pembroke Castle where we explore this 12th Century fortress, from its labyrinth of passageways to its grand towers. Our final visit on our tour of Pembrokeshire takes us to St David’s namesake of the patron saint of Wales; this tiny village receives city status owing to its impressive cathedral and bishop’s palace. Arriving back into Tenby, enjoy a free evening to explore the tangle of cobbled streets with plenty of pubs and restaurants for your evening dining.

  6. Day 6 Gower Peninsual, Penderyn Distillery and Cardiff Castle

    Today we say farewell to Pembrokeshire as we head East towards the capital of Wales, Cardiff. We pause for spectacular views on the Gower Peninsula before stopping at the Mumbles, a beautiful town situated on the South Wales coast, where we enjoy free time to explore the many shops and sites of the town. Later we visit the Penderyn Distillery; a famous Welsh Whisky, at Penderyn we will see the process of whisky production and sample some of the finished product. Finally, we arrive into Cardiff for a guided tour of the city’s magnificent centrepiece at Cardiff Castle, followed by a simply unforgettable evening of Welsh hospitality at a traditional banquet within the grounds of the castle itself.

  7. Day 7 St Fagans Museum of Welsh Life and Cardiff Bay

    On day seven of our journey we enjoy a relaxing day of sightseeing; in the morning, we travel the short distance to St Fagans, the Museum of Welsh Life, located on the outskirts of the capital in the grounds of St Fagans Castle. This living museum is home to real historic buildings from Welsh history painstakingly relocated to the site; enjoy strolling the grounds and learning about Welsh life through the ages. Leaving St Fagans, we head back to Cardiff and the modern Cardiff Bay area. Here, embark on a walking tour of the Bay seeing some of its famous buildings including the Senedd (home of the Welsh Government). Your evening is free to explore and dine independently.

  8. Day 8 Stonehenge and Windsor Castle

    Today we depart Wales; crossing the Severn Bridge back to England, we stop-off at the wonder that is Stonehenge, an iconic site which dates back more than 2000 years; you’ll have time to stroll around the stones themselves, before heading to the new interactive exhibition to learn about the mysterious history of this magnificent attraction. Continuing West, we arrive at Windsor Castle, the official residence of the Queen and the largest inhabited castle in the world. By evening, we meet for one final time for a farewell dinner and drink.

  9. Day 9 Tour Ends in Windsor

    Your touring programme ends after breakfast this morning. There are transfers available to return you to Heathrow Airport however alternatively you may choose to continue exploring Windsor/London independently or make onward travel to other destinations.
