  1. Day 1 Arrival and Independent London Sightseeing

    Arriving in London make your way in to the city and check in to your central London Hotel. The balance of your day is free for independent touring in the city using your voucher for the Hop-On, Hop-Off bus tour. Choose from multiple tour routes to see famous London landmarks such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Piccadilly Circus, and more. In the evening we come together to meet your guide and group and enjoy a welcome drink and dinner at your hotel.

  2. Day 2 Kensington Palace, Afternoon Tea and the London Eye

    This morning we'll see Hyde Park on route to visit the majestic Kensington Palace, former home of Princess Diana and whose estate is now also home to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. We then head to the National Gallery where we enjoy a very "English" tradtion and take a classic afternoon tea. Our final stop of the day is on the Banks of the Thames as we ride the London Eye to gain panoramic birds-eye views over Westminster. Your evening is free to explore London and dine at your own leisure.

  3. Day 3 Bristol Sightseeing, Bath and Roman Baths

    Departing London we head West making our way to the bustling city of Bristol; here we'll spot hallmarks of the industrial revolution and learn about the history of the city on a walking tour. Then we head for the nearby UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath where we'll take in the elegant Georgian architcture on a brief walk through the city before visiting the famous Roman Baths. Tonight we enjoy a group dinner together at our hotel.

  4. Day 4 Chavenage House and Blenheim Palace

    Today is dedicate to visiting two opulant country estates. Following a journey through the rolling countryside of the Cotswolds, our first stop is Chavenage House. You may recognize this elegant Elizabethan manor house as it is frequently used as a location for film and television productions, most recently in the renowned “Poldark” series. Next up is a visit to Blenheim Palace, the birthplace and childhood home of Winston Churchill which today houses interesting exhibitions relating to his life and pivotal role in World War II.

  5. Day 5 Stonehenge and Portsmouth's Mary Rose Museum

    This morning we head out on to the eerie Salisbury Plain to visit the famous prehistoric standing monoliths of Stonehenge. We'll explore the visitor centre and walk around the stones themselves to try to unravel the mysteries of this ancient site. Later we head to England's South coast; in Portsmouth we visit the intriguing Mary Rose Museum where we'll learn about the history of this Tudor warship that sailed as part of Henry VIII's navy, was lost at sea in 1545 but later recovered in 1982. We then continue along the coast to Brighton where we enjoy a dinner together at our hotel.

  6. Day 6 White Cliffs and English Gardens

    This morning we see the iconic Seven Sisters chalk cliffs before visiting the elegant town of Royal Tunbridge Wells where we enjoy free-time to explore and take lunch. By afternoon we'll visit a traditional English country garden; depending on departure date we'll visit either Sissinghurst Castle Garden, the country home of novelist Vita Sackville-West, or Scotney Castle, a 14th-century moated castle and gardens. Later we travel on to our hotel in Maidstone for dinner.

  7. Day 7 Leeds Castle and Canterbury Cathedral

    This morning we make our way to Leeds Castle, a quintesential English fortress which dates back 900 years and stands proud on an island in the centre of a lake. Then we continue to the stunning Canterbury Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a history of murder, treason and intrigue. By afternoon we visit the nearby Shepherd Neame Brewery for a tour and to sample some of their traditional beers and ales. Finally, we return to London for and enjoy dinner with the group.

  8. Day 8 England's University Cities - Oxford and Cambridge

    This morning we depart London heading north-bound. First stop will be the medieval city of Oxford, dating back to the 12th century and home to one of the world’s most prestigious universities. We'll visit the famous Bodleian Library, home to more than 13 million printed items and which featured in the Harry Potter movies. After lunch we continue to arch rival university city of Cambridge, another elegant destination where we’ll take a "punt" down the River Cam, enjoying views of the famous university colleges on the way. Tonight, we enjoy free time to dine independently in Cambridge.

  9. Day 9 Ely Cathedral and Historic York

    Continuing our journey in to England's North, we'll visit the magnificent Ely Cathedral which dates back to 672AD; you may recognise this imposing structure as it featured in “The Crown” and “The King’s Speech”. By afternoon we head for the North of England's most striking historic city - York. We'll explore the cobbled streets and squares and visit the resplendent York Minster. Enjoy some free time in York to stroll the medieval city walls or shop in it's many boutiques. Tonight we dine together at our hotel.

  10. Day 10 Yorkshire Moors Rail Journey and Seaside Whitby

    Today we enjoy an excursion accross the dramatic Yorkshire Moors; we make our way to Goathland Station, which portrayed Hogsmeade Station in the first “Harry Potter” film, to board a vintage steam train to the ancient seaport of Whitby. We'll enjoy a brief walking tour of this charming fishing town beneath the cliff-top Abbey which inspired Bram Stoker's Dracula. After free time for lunch we return over the Moors to York where the balance of your day is free to spend at your leisure.

  11. Day 11 Historic Harrogate and Grasmere Village

    Pasing West from York we pass over the Yorkshire Dales to nearby Harrogate, a charming Victorian spa town where we'll enjoy a brief walking tour with our tour director. Then onwards in to the rustic landscapes of the Lake District. After pausing for lunch we'll visit the Lakes Distillery, to discover how hand-crafted spirits are made and enjoy a sampling. In nearby Grasmere we'll visit the famous Gingerbread Shop to taste this traditional local delicacy, first made 165 years ago. By evening we continue to our hotel on the shore of Lake Windermere where we dine together.

  12. Day 12 England's Lake District - Cruise and Rail

    This morning we head for the Armitt Museum, which preserves the cultural heritage of the Lake District, with a special focus on local artist and author Beatrix Potter. Later we take to the tranquil waters of Lake Windermere with a scenic cruise along England's largest body of water before boarding an historic train for a rail journey through the picturesque Leven Valley. After a day immersed in the beauty of the Lake District we pass south to the vibrant city of Liverpool where you’ll check into your hotel and dine independently.

  13. Day 13 Explore the Beatles' Liverpool

    Today is yours to spend at leisure in the magnificent city of Liverpool. Discover this famous port city and home of the Beatles; stroll the historic docks to visit the "Beatles Story" exhibition, Tate Gallery and famous Liver Buildings. Perhaps visit one of the city's two cathedrals, the world-famous Cavern Club or simply indulge in some world-class shopping. In the evening, gather with the group for a farewell dinner.

  14. Day 14 Tour Ends and Return Home

    This morning your tour ends after a final breakfast in your hotel. You can make your way to Liverpool or Manchester Airports or travel onwards within the UK. Please ask if you require rail tickets back to London.
