  1. Day 1 Arrive Dunblane and Afternoon Tea

    Arrive in to Scotland and make your way to the quaint Scottish town of Dunblane (complimentary group transfers available from Glasgow dependent on flight arrival time). After checking in to your beautifully restored Victorian-style hotel, you'll be treated to a traditional Scottish afternoon tea. You'll then have free-time to explore the 10 acres of private grounds or indulge in the hotel's leisure facilities which include an indoor pool, fitness room, sauna, steam room, and whirlpool. In the evening meet your tour director and fellow travellers for a welcome drink before dinner.

  2. Day 2 Stirling and the Trossachs National Park

    Today we visit the historic town of Stirling; we'll make our way to the enchanting Stirling Castle which boasts a pivotal role in Scotland's Royal history having been held by "Braveheart" William Wallace in the 13th Century and later by Robert the Bruce. By afternoon we get a taste of Scotland's natural beauty on a scenic drive through the enchanting landscapes of the Trossachs National Park before returning to your hotel for some leisure time before dinner.

  3. Day 3 Urquhart Castle and Loch Ness

    Today we enjoy another scenic drive in to Scotland's highlands. We'll cross the haunting Rannoch Moor and pass between the towering hills of Glencoe, often considered one of Scotland’s most beautiful places. On the weather-beaten shores of Loch Ness we'll visit the ruins of Urquhart Castle before embarking on a short cruise on Loch Ness. Later we arrive in Inverness, capital of the Highlands, where you can rest and relax in your hotel before dinner.

  4. Day 4 Scottish Wool, Whisky and Cawdor Castle

    Today we head to the renowned Johnstons of Elgin to discover the 220-year-old story of their production of traditional Scottish woolen and cashmere products. A short onward drive brings us to a Speyside distillery where we'll tour the facilities to learn about the production of the Scottish "Water of Life" and of course sample a wee dram ourselves! Our final stop today is the Cawdor Castle, a fairtale castle of turrets and towers se in extensive gardens. We'll explore this 600 yr old mansion which is reputedly the setting of Shakespeare’s play “Macbeth.” Later we return to Inverness for dinner.

  5. Day 5 The Cairngorms and Glamis Castle

    Today we pass South through the heart of the Cairngorms National Park where we'll pause in one of the Highland villages. We'll then head for Glamis Castle; this magnificent house also has connections to Macbeth but is best known as the much-loved childhood home of the late Queen Mother - we'll explore this majestic building filled with priceless artifacts and furnishings. By evening we cross the Tay bridge to St Andrews, the “Home of Golf” where you’ll enjoy an evening at leisure.

  6. Day 6 Discover St Andrews

    This morning the choice is yours - make use of freetime at the hotel leisure facilities, head out for a round of golf or enjoy a walking tour with your tour director. Your stroll around this medieval town will take in the highlights including the famous Royal and Ancient Clubhouse, the British Golf Museum and the ruins of St Andrews Castle and St Andrews Cathedral which dates back to the 8th century. By afternoon we drive across the Queensferry Crossing into Edinburgh, Scotland’s historic capital city. Enjoy a free evening to dine at your leisure.

  7. Day 7 Edinburgh sightseeing

    Today we expllore the Scottish Capital, Edinbrgh. We'll compare and contrast the wide avenues and elegant town-houses of the 200-year-old Georgian “New Town” with the cobbled lanes and stacked medieval houses of the Royal Mile, the oldest part of the city. Then we'll make our way to the imposing Edinburgh Castle for splendid views of the city of Edinburgh. Your afternoon is free for independent exploring before we come together for a farewell dinner this evening. On August 7 & 14 departures attend the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo on the Castle Esplanade.

  8. Day 8 Tour Ends and Return Home

    Your tour ends after breakfast in your hotel this morning. Complimentary group transfers are available to Edinburgh Airport. Alternatively, continue to explore Edinburgh at your leisure or board a train for onward travel to other parts of the UK.
