  1. Day 1 Chester and over the Border to Wales

    Arriving in to Manchester (let us know if you want to arrive in to other airports in Britain), head west with your first stop at English city of Chester. Explore Tudor facaded timberwork buildings along the “rows” or walk the medieval city walls and gates not missing the impressive cathedral and the excavated Roman amphitheatre. From here head over the border for your first flavour of Wales. Head for the area of Llangollen, a traditional Welsh town which regularly hosts the country’s national festival – the Eisteddfod of Wales.

  2. Day 2 Llangollen, the Dee Valley and Chirk Castle.

    Spend today exploring the market town of Llangollen and the rolling hills of the surrounding countryside. Perhaps visit the mysterious Hill-top fort of Caer Drewyn, take a steam train ride through the valley from Llangollen or head for the beautiful Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, a 10 arched bridge which has carried canal boats 150 feet above the valley floor for over 200 years. Visit historic villages such as Ruthin or Corwen, nestling on the banks of the River Dee, before visiting Chirk Castle, a 13th century border fort which became a lavish stately home of the Myddelton family for over 400 yrs.

  3. Day 3 Snowdonia National Park

    Dedicate today to experiencing some of Britain’s most breathtaking scenery as you cross the spectacular Snowdonia National Park home to Mount Snowden the highest peak in England and Wales. Make your way in to the centre of the region where you can hike in the hills around Betws-y-Coed or visit Llanrwst to see the Tu Hwnt I’r Bont Tea rooms, one of the prettiest in the whole of Britain. At the Lechwedd Slate Mines you can descend a former Victorian slate mine and learn about the ancient are of slate splitting. By evening descend to your coastal overnight destination.

  4. Day 4 Portmeirion, Harlech Castle and Snowden Mountain Railway

    Today discover North Wales’ beautiful West Coast. A short drive north you can visit the awe-inspiring Harlech Castle perched overlooking the Irish Sea and Ceredigion Bay. Then head along the coast to the beautiful village of Portmeirion – an Italianate village which famously featured on the sixties cult television show "The Prisoner". From nearby Porthmadog you can board a narrow-gauge mountain railway which will take you on a beautiful journey through the hills of Snowdonia.

  5. Day 5 Caernarfon Castle and the Isle of Anglesey

    This morning pass North to the town of Caernarfon to see another glorious medieval fortress at Caernarfon Castle, the site of the 1969 investiture of the Prince of Wales. Then cross the Menai Straits to the stunning Isle of Angelsey home to a diverse heritage and scenery; discover beautiful landscapes and history from the 18th century mansion at Plas Newydd to a number of Neolithic and bronze age sites and stone circles dating back to the island’s Celtic origins. Perhaps visit the village with the longest name in Britain: Llanfairpwllgwyngyll-gogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. By evening continue to the North coast of Wales.

  6. Day 6 Conwy and Llandudno

    Spend today exploring two neighbouring but contrasting towns on the North Wales coast. Llandudno is a charming Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno where you can enjoy a stroll along the promenade or take an historic tram ride up to the Great Orme which offers views over the town and to Snowdonia beyond. A short drive away is the hidden gem at Conwy, a quaint medieval harbour town of cobbled streets and squares; the town is seemingly frozen in time with its medieval town walls and dominated by the stunning 13th century fortress at Conwy Castle.

    Overnight: Conwy / Llandudno

  7. Day 7 Return to Manchester

    Return East making your way along Wales’ North Coast and back over the border in to England. Head for the thriving city of Manchester, quite the contrast to the remote rural hills of North Wales. Time-permitting explore the industrial history of this city before heading back to the airport or taking onward rail travel to another destination in Britain. Return your vehicle.
