  1. Day 1 Oxford and the Cotswolds

    After meeting our tour director and boarding our executive motor-coach, we begin our tour to the South West of Britain. We'll follow the scenic Great West Way road to Oxford; here we can choose between a punting trip on the River Thames or visiting one of its famous university colleges. Later we continue in to the heart of England and through the rolling hills and Honey-coloured villages of the Cotswolds. We'll pause to see some such as Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold, before heading to the Georgian city of Bath where we enjoy an orientation of the city before checking in to our accommodation for the night.

  2. Day 2 Regency Bath and the Roman Baths

    Today we enjoy a leisurely start before exploring Bath City, which attained UNESCO World Heritage status in 1987 owing to its elegant Georgian architecture. We'll start the day with a visit to the famous Roman Baths a miraculously well-preserved site which dates back over 2000 years. Later, we have the option to learn more about the life of esteemed author Jane Austen whose many novels were set in Georgian England. Alternatively the rest of the day is as your leisure and walk the charming cobbled streets of this quaint city and explore its many attractions independently.

  3. Day 3 Brecon Beacons National Park

    After a relaxed start, we'll head over the border in to Wales for a day in the great outdoors. We'll journey to the Brecon Beacons mountain range home to a wealth of flora and wildlife; we'll enjoy a gentle hike with a ranger to spot wild birds and mammals or learn more about them with a naturalist guide over a lecture. After wrking up anappette we enjoy a hearty inluded pub lunch, with a delicious seasonal menu of local ingredients will be available. In the afternoon, we arrive in Cardiff, Wales’ cultural hub.

  4. Day 4 Cardiff, the Capital of Wales

    Enjoy a relaxed start this morning. Then we join our tour director for an orientation of this vibrant city where we'll see the Principality Stadium, home of Welsh Rugby, and the imposing walls of Cardiff Castle. The rest of your day is free for you to spend at your leisure; perhaps visit Wales' national musuem, head inside the castle to see the opulent Victrorian Manor and ancient stone tower or head for Cardiff Bay to see the seat of Welsh government and dine in one of the many waterfront eateries.

  5. Day 5 Glastonbury Abbey and Exmoor National Park

    Today we return to England and visit Glastonbury Abbey set in the Somerset hills. We'll explore its historic ruins whch date ba to the 7th century and hold connections to Arthurian legend. Later, we cross the remote landscapes of the Exmoor National Park, an Area of Outstanding Beauty. We then continue the scenic drive to the historic port town of Bideford which has featured as a filming location when it captured the hearts of the directors of the 2018 movie, “Guernsey,” set in 1946. Your day ends at Bovey Castle, nestled in the rolling valleys of Dartmoor National Park, where you’ll stay for the next two nights.

  6. Day 6 Plymouth and Looe

    This morning, we make our way to Plymouth, a traditional Devonshire port town. We'll stroll the cobbled streets to Plymouth Hoe where the Mayflower set sail. We'll see the steps where the Pilgrim Fathers first departed for the New World in 1620. A particularly important year, 2020 marks the Mayflower’s 400th anniversary. Enjoy free-time or perhaps take an optional boat trip on the waters. Next, we journey to the quaint coastal town of Looe whose turquoise waters and sandy beach could pass for a beach in southern Europe; we'll explore the winding streets and boutiques before travelling back to Bovey Castle in te heart of Dartmoor.

  7. Day 7 Tintagel Castle and Fishing Villages of North Cornwall

    Today we visit a series of villages and highlights on the North Cornwall Coast. We begin at Tintagel Castle whose ruins are precariously located on a cliff; legend has it King Arthur was born here and Merlin's cave lies in the cliffs below. Our next stop is the charming fishing town of Port Isaac, best-known as Port Wen as the filming location of British television show Doc Martin; we'll enjoy a brief orientation of the village. Finally we continue to Padstow, another quintessential fishing town where you can stroll the hrabour to see the day's catch come in or perhaps even sample a traditional fish 'n' chips lunch from one of the many local eateries.

  8. Day 8 The Cornish Peninsula and Land's End

    Today we enjoy a full day exploring Cornwall the Cornish Peninsula. Our first stop will be Penzance whose cliffs and bays were once the stomping-ground of pirates and smugglers in the late 18th century. Explore this beautiful destination with your group before moving on to St Ives. this chraming seaside town has long been popular with artists with galleries and studios lining its fanciful streets. It is also the preferred retreat for British celebrities Gordon Ramsay and Kate Winslet, who both have holiday homes close by. Our final stop is at Land’s End - a world-famous landmark at the most southwestern point of the British mainland. Stand at the cliffs and nothing but the wild waters of the Atlantic separate you from the Americas.

  9. Day 9 Country Houses of Dorchester

    This morning we start with a visit to Sand House in Sidbury. We'll explore this historic manor with one of the Ladies of the Manor whose ancestors have resided here for over 500 years. After a stroll through the elegant gardens we head inside for a delicious tea and freshly baked scones and hear all about the fascinating family history. Later, we move on to our accommodation for the next two nights, the beautiful Summer Lodge Country House Hotel and Spa which Thomas Hardy used as the inspiration for the fictitious “Evershed,” in his novel “Wessex”.

  10. Day 10 Galleries and Gardens of Dorchester

    We'll enjoy a leisurely morning before learning what goes in to being Lord or Lady of a grand house today, as you explore two of Britain’s finest. Fitrst stop is Mapperton House and Montacute House. Mapperton house, owned by Lord and Lady Sandwich, whose ancestor, John Montagu, the fourth Earl of Sandwich, is famous for inventing the convenience food itself. Discover this charming manor which was used to film “Far from Madding Crowd,” an adaptation from the Thomas Hardy novel, starring Carey Mulligan. Later we visit the Elizabethan Montacute, a National Trust house and gardens. Its Long Gallery is the longest in Britain, and it is here that through the house’s partnership with the National Portrait Gallery, it displays a range of fascinating old oils and watercolours.

  11. Day 11 Stonehenge and English Pottery

    Today we return West towards London. Our first stop will be the iconic standing stones at Stonehenge. A prehistoric monument found in Wiltshire, this ring of standing stones is believed to have been constructed over 2000 years ago. We'll see the monoliths themselves and explore the visitor centre to try to unravel its mysteries. Later, head to Selborne to visit the Selbourne Pottery workshop famous for the pottery established by Robert Goldsmith in 1985. We'll meet Robert himself and learn more about how he makes these acclaimed ceramics over a demonstration. By early evening we return to London where your tour ends.
