Starting: Windsor
  1. Day 1 Arrival and Windsor Castle

    Arriving in to London Heathrow make your way to nearby historic Windsor (group transfers from Heathrow available dependent on your flight arrival time). At 2:30 PM you meet your guide and the rest of the group at your Windsor hotel. We head straight for Windsor Castle, famous residence of the Queen and the largest inhabited castle in the world. After our castle visit we'll enjoy a short walk around this compact, historic town before joining the rest of the group for a welcome drink. Tonight your are free to dine independently in one fo the towns many restaurants.

  2. Day 2 Blenheim Palace and Cotswolds Drive

    Today we journey north in the English countryside. First stop is the elegant Blenheim Palace, a monumental country house and home to the Dukes of Marlborough and former childhood home of Sir Winston Churchill. Onwards we enjoy a scenic drive through the rolling hills and valleys of the Cotswolds countryside - we'll pass through chocolate-box villages of thatch cottages and honey-coloured houses. By evening we arrive in the beautiful medieaval city of York.

  3. Day 3 York Minster and Bamburgh Castle

    This morning we explore walk on a brief walking tour of York’s medieval lanes, including the Shambles, reputedly England's oldest shopping street. We'll visit the city's centrepiece at the Gothic York Minster, renowned for its magnificent stained glass windows. Departing York we head north - our next stop is Bamburgh Castle, an imposing medieval fortress set high on a rocky plateau affording wonderful views along the coast. By afternoon we continue to our hotel near Edinburgh, Dalhousie Castle, and hear a piper play before a lively Scottish evening with dinner and entertainment in your hotel.

  4. Day 4 The Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle

    Todaye we head in to central Edinburgh to explore with a local guide; we'll begin in the 200-year-old “New Town” with its elegant Georgian houses before travelling along Princes Street with views over Princes Street Gardens. Traveling up the Royal Mile in to the old town we see the city's famous crooked and stacked medieval houses. Arriving at Edinburgh Castle we gain magnificent views over the city andhead inside to see the Crown Jewels of Scotland and the Stone of Destiny. The afternoon is yours to exploreindependently. * August 9 - 23 departures attend the spectacular Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo on the Castle Esplanade.

  5. Day 5 Grasmere and British Music Experience

    Returning south over the border back in to England, we head for the Lake District whose hills and vales have inspired writers and artisits alike including Wordsworth abd Beatrix Potter; we'll pause for lunch in one of the many traditional lakeland villages. By afternoon we visit the vibrant city of Liverpool; here we visit the British Music Experience, an interactive attraction exploring British popular music through the decades with a the rise of Liverpool's famous band - the Beatles. The evening is free to dine independently before we experience live music at the world-famous Cavern Club.

  6. Day 6 Ludlow, Tintern Abbey and Welsh banquet

    Continuing South we pass through rural Shropshire, one of England's most unspoiled regions. We pause in Ludlow, a quintessentially English town to see the castle and quaint old black-and-white timber-fronted houses. Later we crss the border in to the rolling hills of Wales where we pass along the scenic Wye Valley to visit the dramatic ruins of Tintern Abbey. Finally we arrive int eh Welsh Capital of Cardiff where we visit Cardiff Castle before enjoying a Welsh banquet with lively music and entertainment.

  7. Day 7 Roman Baths and Stonehenge

    This morning we enjoy a brief panoramic drive around Cardiff to see the city's main sites and points of interest before departing Wales over the river Severn. We'll make our way to the historic city of Bath where we'll visit the intriguing mineral rich springs and Roman Baths. After enjoying time of lunch at leisure, we'll continue West to one of England's highlights - the enchanting prehistoric circle of vast monoliths of Stonehenge eerily set on the Salisbury Plain. In London, the evening is free to explore and dine in one of the city’s many restaurants.

  8. Day 8 Famous London landmarks

    This morning we meet a local guide to embark on a panoramic tour of central London to spot some of the city's famous landmarks including Piccadilly Circus, Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and the Houses of Parliament. We'll visit the mighty Tower of London to see the famous fort and its resident ravens and Beefeaters in their distinctive uniforms; you'll also see the priceless Crown Jewels. Your afternoon and evening are free for further independent exploration.

  9. Day 9 Independent London sightseeing

    Today is yours to enjoy a full day of independent sightseeing - ready with your included London by Hop-On, Hop-Off bus tour tickets your can choose from a number of different circular city bus routes and enjoy a walking tour and a cruise on the River Thames. During the day you may choose to visit one or more London's magnificent galleries or museums including the Tate Galleries, the Natural History Museum or the Imperial War Museum.

  10. Day 10 Tour Ends and Return Home

    This morning you can enjoy a final breakfast in your hotel before your tour ends at your hotel. You can make your way back to one of the London Airports for your return flight to your home nation (fixed time group transfers available to Heathrow Airport). Alternatively make your way onwards to other destinations in the UK.
