Danielle Litton – Britain Travel Consultant

Danielle (or Danii as she prefers to be known) was born and raised in the picture-perfect seaside town of Penarth, only a stone’s throw away from Cardiff the capital city of Wales. With family from all over the UK, Danii regularly travels the length and breadth of Britain to visit them and enjoys exploring along the way. Her family are keen travellers and whilst she spent most childhood holidays overseas, they would always also make time for driving holidays in the UK in one of their favourite hotspots on the South Wales coast or in the beautiful English Lake District.

Since a young age Danii has had a passion for travel; her grandmother was the owner of a local high-street travel agency in Wales and her mother worked for a period as cabin crew so it came as no surprise when Danielle started her two year apprenticeship with an Independent travel agent in South Wales.

Pen Y Fan, Brecon Beacons, Wales

Over the course of two years, Danielle worked in a number of branches of the agency across South Wales whilst she studied to gain her NVQ diploma level 2 and 3 in Travel and Tourism which covered both worldwide and UK travel. Her customer-facing travel agency work has provided her with a wealth of first-hand knowledge and experience in the industry.

In the course of her studies and work experience, Danii was lucky enough to visit many different places around the world however her favourite country is nearby France where she has travelled from the historic shores of Brittany right down to the lavender fields of Marseille. With family also now residing in France, for the last 10 years Danielle has spent Christmas there, celebrating with friends and family in the foothills of the Alps.

Danielle joined the adeo Travel team in 2019 after completing her work and studies in travel and tourism and now enjoys assisting her guests to explore the UK. In the course of her time at adeo Travel Danii has travelled to various places around the UK including Bath, Salisbury, the Cotswolds, the Lake District and York.

In her personal life Danii enjoys spending time with her family, ice-skating, visiting new places and following the pursuits of the Welsh national rugby team!

Q&A Section

We asked our travel consultants some questions about their time in the travel industry and here’s what Danii had to say…

What’s your favourite destination in Britain and why?

The Scottish Highlands – from the mystical shores Loch Ness to the breath-taking wilderness of the Cairngorms national park, the Scottish Highlands has some of the country’s most stunning scenery that Britain has to offer and the Scottish hospitality is second to none, and that’s just one of the reasons I keep going back.

What’s your must-see Britain attraction?

The Glenfinnan Viaduct also known as the Hogwarts express will always be at the top of my to do list while here in Britain, whether you ride the historical steam train, the local train or simply pitch up along side the Viaduct for a picnic I can guarantee it’s a day you will never forget.

What’s the hotel you most like recommending for clients and why?

I personally love the Cromlix Hotel. This Victorian Mansion is set acres of landscaped gardens with a chapel and its very own loch, located just north of Stirling they offer guest a luxury stay in a handful of beautifully decorated rooms and suites all with first class Scottish hospitality from the famous sportsman and his wife who own the hotel.

What’s the biggest travel challenge you’ve overcome?

I started in the travel industry at the age of 17 and since then I like to think I’ve seen it all from freak snowstorms, volcanic eruptions to a life pausing pandemic but it’s one thing helping people in these situations and it’s another experiencing them for yourself. During a trip visiting family in France our return flight was cancelled less than 2 hours before boarding, and as we were in a remote area of France flights usually ran twice a week during the busy season but our cancelled flight just so happened to be the last one of the season meaning there was no “later” flight, we quickly got in touch with our local travel agent who arranged for a car to take us to the next airport along (over 4 Hours away) and a Hotel for the evening all covered for by our travel insurance, this not only taught me the value of having a travel agent on your side but also the importance of always having travel insurance.

What’s your top tip for your clients coming to Britain?

My top tip will always be to visit the local pubs, whether it’s for a traditional pub lunch (a British staple) or to sample the local specialty (usually whiskey in Scotland and cider down South England) here you can get a real sense of the local area from the Scottish islands right down to the Cornish coast the local pub is a haven for locals and tourist a like and the perfect place to meet the locals and swap stories you really never know what you’ll find, and if your lucky you might find a live band performance or even a Pub Quiz.

What’s the best thing about being part of the adeo Travel Team?

As cheesy as this may sound I love working with guests and making their vacation dreams a reality, from tracking down long lost relatives to visiting the filming site of their favourite British TV show its always a pleasure being able to hear how much my guests enjoyed their time here in the UK, even when the weather is on their side.

What’s your next holiday destination?

I have a few holidays planned for the next coming months from skiing in the French Pyrenees for Christmas (a Family tradition) to a city brake in the historical capital of Prague but the one I’m most looking forward to is a 3 week vacation driving through the Rocky Mountains, I’ve never done a RV Holiday before so this will definitely be a first, but with help of sightseeing recommendations from some of my past guests it’s a vacation I’m never going to forget.
