Before I travel

You’ve booked your trip and need to know what to prepare before you depart on your Britain Vacation.

What currency do you use in Britain? Where can I get money during travel?

Throughout Britain (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) we use just one currency; Great British Pounds Sterling (GBP£) (not Euros!) although notes do look different in certain regions. Notes come in denominations of £5, £10, £20 and £50, each note is a different colour and the larger the note the larger the denomination. You can get money in advance of travel from your local bank or bureau de change or you can withdraw money here from banks and ATMs. For lots of information on money matters, please click here.
