You’ve booked your trip and need to know what to prepare before you depart on your Britain Vacation.

What currency do you use in Britain? Where can I get money during travel?

Throughout Britain (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) we use just one currency; Great British Pounds Sterling (GBP£) (not Euros!) although notes do look different in certain regions. Notes come in denominations of £5, £10, £20 and £50, each note is a different colour and the larger the note the larger the denomination. Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, it is a condition of travel with adeo Travel that you have adequate travel insurance protection. Travel insurance, dependent on provider and policy, will usually provide cover for unexpected occurrences such as flight delay, loss of luggage or personal items, any required medical treatment during travel and if you are forced to cancel prior to travel for any variety of reasons. We do not sell travel insurance at adeo Travel however we are happy to point you in the right direction if you do not have a policy. We recommend that you purchase travel insurance as early as possible before your trip to ensure you have maximum cover. Click here to read more about the importance of trip insurance. Do I need a passport?

Yes, you will need a passport to travel to Britain; please check the expiration date of your passport to ensure that it is valid for the duration of travel. It should also be valid for a period of at least six months after travel in case your return home is delayed for any reason. If you do not yet have a passport you can still book your trip with adeo Travel but please ensure that you order your passports in plenty of time as passport offices can be slow at processing applications!

Do I need a travel visa?

People travelling from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and from within the EU do not usually require travel visas, you will just be asked to complete a landing card during your flight to Britain. Guests travelling from other destinations may require a visa to enter Britain, please check with your local British embassy or check online with the UK Border Agency at the following link:

Can I amend my booking?

Yes, we will always do our utmost to make any required amendments to your booking if your circumstances change. However, please bear in mind that changes in terms of your itinerary may have implications on various aspects of your trip including subsequent arrangements, availability of certain services, price fluctuation, ticket re-issuing etc. Any change is subject to availability and price change and whilst we will waive them wherever possible we do reserve the right to apply processing or amendment fees as per our Terms and Conditions.

When will I receive my Travel Documents?

We will usually issue your travel documents around four to six weeks prior to your travel start date with adeo Travel. This time-frame should provide you with plenty of time to check all the details and browse through the information at leisure. However, some services may require physical tickets and/or passes that cannot be ordered or issued until closer to the time of travel in which case your documents won’t be dispatched until your travel pack is complete. If you need your documents early, we’re more than happy to arrange that for you with prior notice. Likewise, we can almost always issue a digital or e-ticket (pdf) pack which can be printed at home or kept accessible on your phone or device. If you still want the physical pack, we can have a copy ready and waiting for you at your first hotel.

What happens if I need to cancel my trip?

In the unfortunate circumstance that you need to cancel all or part of your trip, simply get in touch with us by phone or email and we’ll be on hand to swiftly process the cancellation and offer assistance and advice on what to do next. We endeavour to be flexible wherever possible however, as we incur business costs from the moment you book a trip with us, unfortunately we will generally have to retain deposits and/or apply a cancellation fees in line with our terms and conditions.
