Noel Arms Hotel

The Noel Arms Hotel is a charming 16th century coaching inn situated on the High street of the quintessential Cotswold village of Chipping Campden in the heart of England.

The Setting

Set in the centre of the town, the Noel Arms overlooks the bustling Highstreet of Chipping Campden with a host of local shops, cafes, eateries and pubs on your doorstep. The picturesque village, whose fortunes grew from the local wool trade in the middle-ages, is characterised by its classic limestone terraced buildings and is centred around the historic market place.

The Hotel

Dating back over 500 years, the Noel Arms is an historic coaching inn located in the heart of the town and as such creates part of the very fabric of Chipping Campden. Stepping in from the bustling high street, a warm welcome awaits you within; you’re immediately met with the aroma of freshly brewing coffee from the in-house coffee shop and the welcoming front of house team. The coffee-shop and lounge area is enjoyed by locals and residents alike, offering a calm haven in which to enjoy a hot drink by the open fireplace prior to check-in.

The Rooms

There are 28 bedrooms at the Noel Arms all decorated in a traditional and simple style and very much in keeping with the hotel’s historic roots. Rooms to the front of the building offer views over the High Street whilst those to the rear are located overlooking the spacious courtyard and hotel terrace. Guest quarters located in the older part of the building enjoy original features and antique furnishings. Whilst traditional in ambience the rooms have all of the modern comforts expected by today’s traveller including quality toiletries, in-room hot drink tray, large flat-screen televisions and complimentary Wi-Fi access.

Food and Drink

The Dover’s Bar at the Noel Arms is the heart of this traditional inn; it offers an atmospheric space in which to enjoy a pre-dinner drink or a warming night-cap. The space is characterised by original flagstone flooring, low wood-beamed ceiling and open hearth home to roaring log-fire in the Winter months. The space is serviced by a well-stocked bar of local and international lagers, ales, wines and spirits. The food menus at the Noel Arms are unstuffy with the focus on hearty traditional pub favourites such as fish & chips, artisan burgers and steaks all prepared with quality local produce. The Asian chef brings a unique twist with home-made curry options regularly featuring on the lunch dinner and even breakfast menus. Food can be enjoyed in the bar area, in the spacious restaurant, in the conservatory or al fresco on the terrace in the Summer months.

The Wider Area

Chipping Campden lies in the heart of the Cotswolds region in central England, a superb base from which to explore the dozens of eccentrically-named neighbouring towns and villages not to mention the rolling hills and patchwork fields characteristic of the area. Chipping Campden marks the start of the ancient Cotswold Way, once a merchants trading route but today enjoyed by walkers, hikers and cyclists. The central location makes for pleasant road trips to a plethora of nearby places of historic interest including Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick Castle, Oxford and Blenheim Palace to name just a few.

In Summary

An historic inn set in a charming historic market town, the Noel Arms offers an authentic flavour of olde England and an excellent base for exploring the Cotswolds.
