  1. Day 1 Arrive London

    After checking in at your hotel, why not explore the city of London? Whether you stroll through one of the Royal Parks, shop in the vibrant West End or visit one of the world famous historical attractions, London has plenty to keep you entertained. Your central hotel at Marble Arch means you are just a few seconds walk from the magnificent Hyde Park and the renowned Oxford Street. Later, meet with your Travel Director and fellow companions for a traditional English pub Welcome Reception.

  2. Day 2 London Sightseeing and Excursion to Kew Gardens

    This morning, enjoy a half day introductory sightseeing tour with a Local Expert to see Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. This afternoon we visit the immaculate Kew Gardens, a stunning botanical garden known as the world's most famous and with UNESCO World Heritage status. Explore inside the Victorian glasshouses and indoor galleries and enjoy an included bus tour around parts of the vast gardens and grounds. This evening you are free to explore London's nightlife and restaurant scene independently or enjoy a dinner and theatre package in London's renowned West End.

  3. Day 3 Excursion to Wisley Gardens and Hampton Court Palace

    Today, we travel to the memorable gardens of Wisley, renowned as the flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society. Wisley is home to richly planted borders, luscious rose gardens and the state-of-the-art glasshouse. Enjoy a Small Group Sightseeing experience around parts of the garden before free time to lunch in one of the restaurants in the grounds. By afternoon we visit the magnificent Hampton Court Palace, a sophisticated Tudor Palace home to vast kitchens, intricate tapestries in the Great Hall with and the opulent interior of the Chapel. Lose yourself in the most famous Maze and visit the Privy Garden, restored to its former glory. Your evening is free to spend at leisure in London.

  4. Day 4 Sheffield Park and Garden and the Bluebell Railway

    Departing London, we make our way to Sheffield Park and Gardens, managed by the National Trust since 1954 and comprising four lakes with stunning landscaped gardens of Capability Brown home to a variety of rare trees and shrubs. From the gardens we enjoy a ride on one of England's most famous steam trains – the Bluebell Railway heritage line with its collection of over 30 steam locomotives. Continue to your hotel on the Sussex Coast.

  5. Day 5 Sussex Coast and Brighton Excursion

    A short drive along the Sussex coast brings us to Brighton, a charming bohemian seaside town closely link to the Regent Prince (later King George IV). Explore the town from the fine Regency architecture at Lewes Crescent and Brunswick Square or the impressive Brighton Pavilion. Wander the shopping streets in the unique "Lanes" near the seafront, characterised by narrow alleyways following the street pattern of the original fishing village and contain clothing stores, jewellers, antique shops, restaurants and pubs. You may choose to take a traditional fish and chip lunch on the pier before returning to your hotel in the afternoon.

  6. Day 6 Dover, Canterbury and Mount Ephraim Country House

    This morning we travel to Dover for a Unique Insight into her famous White Cliffs where an expert will help us discover the significance of the cliffs and their conservation. A short drive away is Canterbury, parts of which hold UNESCO World Heritage status and is home to the magnificent Canterbury Cathedral. Explore the historic city which is also closely linked to Chaucer's 14th century tales. Departing Canterbury, we head to Mount Ephraim Country House and Gardens where you'll enjoy a Be My Guest Cream Tea. Then it is on to Kent for a two-night stay. Dinner will be served at your hotel this evening.

  7. Day 7 Excursion to Sissinghurst Gardens

    After a leisurely start, our excursion today takes us to another of England's most famous gardens at the beautiful Sissinghurst. This garden was created in the 1930s by Vita Sackville-West, poet and gardening writer, and her husband Harold Nicolson, author and diplomat and is uniquely designed as a series of "rooms", each with a different character of colour or theme, divided by high clipped hedges and pink brick walls. This afternoon we enjoy free-time in one of Kent's charming towns or there is the opportunity to take an optional afternoon excursion to Leeds Castle.

  8. Day 8 Hever Castle and Chartwell House

    Making our way back towards London, today we visit the stunning Hever Castle to see these award-winning formal gardens including the giant topiary chess set of the Tudor Garden, the magnificent Pompeiian Wall in the Italian Garden and the much celebrated Rose Garden. You will also have included ticket to the castle itself which dates back to 1270 and was once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn – wife of Henry VIII. Later we travel a short distance to visit Chartwell the renowned home of Sir Winston Churchill where he lived with his wife until his death in 1965. Now owned by the National Trust, the house and gardens have been beautifully preserved. Return to London this evening where you will enjoy a farewell dinner at your hotel.

  9. Day 9 Depart London

    Say goodbye to your fellow travellers at the end of this wonderful England castles, manors and gardens experience. We can provide onward transport within Britain or transfers back to either Heathrow or Gatwick Airport.
