  1. Day 1 Arrive Edinburgh

    Arrive in Scotland this morning and travel to Edinburgh either by transfer or rail. You’re centrally located hotel will be waiting for you to check in this afternoon and your day is free to either relax and recover from your travels or explore the Scottish capital independently. Edinburgh is a fascinating city home to a host of magnificent national museums and galleries. This evening, meet your travel companions and tour director at a Welcome Reception, which includes your evening meal and drinks.

  2. Day 2 Edinburgh Sightseeing, Edinburgh Castle and Free Time

    This morning, an expert local guide takes you on a sightseeing tour of this wonderful city; admire the elegant Georgian architecture of the new town and the narrow winding streets of the old town, see highlights such as the Royal Palace of Holyrood House in the shadow of Arthur’s Seat, and the new Scottish Parliament building before climbing the Royal Mile to the magnificent Edinburgh Castle perched high above the city.Your visit inside the grounds of the castle is included. Later enjoy more free time to explore further or indulge in some Scottish shopping along the famous Princes Street. During the Edinburgh Festival, your visit will include tickets to the dazzling Edinburgh Tattoo.

  3. Day 3 St. Andrews, Pitlochry and the Scottish Highlands

    Departing Edinburgh cross the Firth of Forth to historic St. Andrews to view the celebrated ancient university, where Prince William and Kate Middleton first met, and of course the spiritual home of golf. Continuing north, we cross the River Tay at Dundee before making our way in to the heart of Scotland where we visit Pitlochry, a charming Victorian village on the banks of the River Tummel. Enjoy free-time to explore the village or join an optional excursion to visit nearby Blair Castle, ancestral home to the Dukes of Atholl. Tonight, we dine in our hotel located in the Highlands on the edge of the Cairngorm National Park.

  4. Day 4 Isle of Skye, Culloden Moor and Scenic Highlands Excursion

    This morning we make our way to Scotland’s scenic West Coast and travel the famous “Road to the Isles” with views of the Glenfinan viaduct and Monument on route to Mallaig. From here we cross by ferry to the beautiful and remote Isle of Skye; we’ll admire the scenery as we drive along the Sleat Peninsula before stopping for time to have lunch. After crossing back to the mainland by bridge we gain views of the iconic Eilean Donan Castle before traversing the lochs and glens of the Scottish Highlands. Passing Loch Ness and Inverness we visit the eerie Culloden Moor and visitor centre, site of the final confrontation of the Jacobite rising of 1745.

  5. Day 5 Glencoe, Loch Lomond and vibrant Glasgow

    Returning to Scotland's stunning west coast, stop at the Commando Memorial near Fort William for breath-taking views of Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis. Then continue south through Glencoe, ‘Glen of the Weeping’, site of the infamous massacre of the Macdonald clan by the Campbells in 1692. Later we journey along the “bonny banks” of Loch Lomond, an area which was once the stomping ground of folk here Rob Roy and whose scenery was immortalised in the well-known Scottish song. Later we continue to Scotland’s most populous urban centre, the lively city of Glasgow.

  6. Day 6 Stirling Castle Excursion and Glengoyne Distillery

    Your day today begins with an orientation of Glasgow including the Peoples Palace and Winter Gardens, the magnificent George Square and the River Clyde, former heart of Scotland’s shipbuilding industry. Enjoy some free time in the city before we visit nearby Stirling Castle, a symbol of national pride and once the Royal Seat of Scotland. See the ‘Stirling Heads’ and visit the halls, chapels and bedrooms of this imposing castle. From the castle walls we gain views of the Wallace Monument – dedicated to Sir William Wallace and overlooking the battlefield of Stirling Bridge. Later we travel into the countryside of the Trossachs National Park where we enjoy a cultural insight in to Whisky making with a visit to Glengoyne Whisky Distillery to sample a ‘wee dram’. Tonight, experience a farewell dinner at a working hill farm on the banks of Loch Ard.

  7. Day 7 Depart Glasgow

    After a hearty Scottish breakfast, bid farewell to your Travel Director and companions as your holiday in Scotland comes to an end. You may choose to continue to explore Glasgow independently or make your onward travel south in to England or back to nearby Glasgow Airport.
