Darryl is adeo Travel's founder and takes on the role of product and sales management, sourcing accommodation and tour providers across Britain and designing adeo's unique itineraries and tours.
Sharing English and Welsh heritage, Darryl is a product of modern Britain – he was born on England's south coast in the naval city of Portsmouth, brought up in rural South Wales, studied in Liverpool in the north of England and more recently lived for a number of years in Glasgow, Scotland. He retains family, social and professional ties throughout England, Scotland and Wales and in the course of his work has travelled extensively throughout Great Britain.
His career in the travel industry began when he graduated university with a languages degree in 2004 and went abroad to work for a global tour operator in Europe for 18 months. When he returned to the UK, Darryl went directly in to a sales and product management position at a leading inbound tour-operator and, during his five years in the role, gained invaluable experience in the Britain inbound and tailor-made travel sectors.
After moving in to educational travel and then in to group operations management for a major inbound coach touring operator, Darryl felt he had gained the knowledge, experience and professional contacts to build a successful travel firm and to share his own concept in Britain travel.
Darryl is a keen sportsman and in his spare time enjoys running, swimming, watersports and has a true passion for tennis. Whilst his dream might be to play at Wimbledon, he generally has to settle for watching from the stands of centre court.
Born in the popular farming county of Somerset in the heart of the English West Country, Shane moved to Cardiff, South Wales in 2013 to study, and after three years gained a BA in History from Cardiff University. Leaving behind Bridgwater and Europe's largest annual illuminated carnival, Shane quickly established himself as a city lover in our exciting capital city. Living originally between London and the mesmerising South-West, Shane's favourite Britain destinations range from the bustling English capital, to the quaint Minack Theatre hidden along the picturesque Cornish coast.
In his spare time, Shane thoroughly enjoys visiting the cinema, alongside attending home games at his local soccer team, Cardiff City. Shane also has a very keen interest in travel, and recently returned from a six-week road trip across the United States, visiting 18 states from the East and West coasts, to the Deep South. In the past, Shane has travelled around Scotland and the Highlands, visiting several lochs in addition to the breath-taking castles and cities. On other trips, Shane has also travelled to North Wales and the magnificent Snowdonia National Park, in between many stops at European/Middle-Eastern cities, both traditional or historic and modern metropolises.
Originally from the North West of England, Amy was born and raised in the city of Liverpool, famous birthplace of "the Beatles". With her childhood memories of holiday's across Britain visiting the nearby Lake District and the beautiful Cornwall in the Southwest Amy has now settled in Cardiff, the capital of Wales.
After completing her A-Levels in 2004, Amy then embarked on a two year working holiday visa to Australia, travelling, visiting and working her way across the country primarily in roles in the travel industry on both the West and East Coasts as well as the Kimberley Region. Whilst on that side of the world, Amy was lucky enough to travel for 6 months in South East Asia, a truly fantastic experience which ignited her already growing passion for travel and the tourism industry.
Following her time in Australia, Amy returned to Europe and went to live in France for four years where she learnt another language, formalised her travel experience by gaining a HND qualification in Travel and Tourism and had numerous professional work experiences in the industry including roles in hotels, tourist offices and tailor-made agents and operators, all of which broadened her practical knowledge of the industry. In 2016 Amy returned to Britain where she continues to develop her travel knowledge by visiting towns and cities across England, Scotland and Wales, and uses her extensive industry experience in assisting our overseas visitors with their travels to the UK.
When she's not travelling and visiting family and friends, Amy's spare time is occupied in the pursuit of her personal interest in Art and graphic design and staying fit in the gym.
Matthew (or Matt) is one of adeo Travel's co-founders; working in the marketing and technical departments he has been in charge of developing our back-office systems and the adeo Travel website.
Matt hails from the central England but moved to Wales to study and has remained living here ever since. He regularly returns to England to visit family and friends in the Midlands and his Cornish heritage offers him a perfect excuse to spend time in the beautiful West Country peninsula of England, his favourite region of Britain.
Whilst Matt has a keen interest in travel and has visited cities and regions across Europe, it is primarily his technical skills which he contributes to the adeo Travel brand. Having gained a degree in Economics and Management at the University of Cardiff, Matt went on to develop his interest in IT and web-design in his own time. His tireless work has seen adeo Travel's website through three improved iterations going from a simple view webpage to the comprehensive site we see today.
Matt likes to stay fit and can regularly be found in the gym or on the tennis court.
